New HAP-2 for XF
In addition to the tools offered by the Phase One XF system, which is made very complete thanks to the Focus Stacking, the Seismograph or the HDR; one of the biggest advantages of the system is the ability to do upgrades. These improvements can be both about the appearance of the camera and its software to keep up with the latest technologies developed by the Danish company. This ensures that an XF camera is never outdated.
In Aclam we have had our Phase One XF camera in process of being upgraded to gain an improved autofocus, unique in the medium format system.
The Honeybee Autofocus Platform is the autofocus system developed by Phase One and launched as one of the featured characteristics of the XF. This platform is the one on which the Danish brand has been working on all the possible improvements that have now been applied to the HAP-2, the new version of said system.
This upgrade which we’ve been able to apply to our medium format system photographic camera, consists of replacing the CMOS sensor, responsible for the autofocus, with a new version which counts on a greater dynamic range and better sensitivity. This change makes the Phase One XF particularly useful in low light and low contrast situations.
